Shiv-era Weapons and Coins Exhibition in Ambarnath
Ambarnath: On the occasion of India's Independence Day, an exhibition of Maharashtra's historic Shiv-era weapons and coins is being organized by the Ambarnath Municipal Council on August 13 and 14 at the municipal building. The exhibition will be open to visitors from 10 AM to 7 PM.
Organized under the joint guidance of Municipal Chief Officer Dr. Prashant Rasal and Mohit Todkar of Kozar Oceans, this exhibition will offer history enthusiasts a chance to witness rare Shiv-era weaponry, including Dandpatta, Dhop, Mulheri Muthi swords, Tega, Una, Goliya-style swords, Maratha and Vijayanagar Katiyar, Bichwa, Khanjir, Adkitta, Kard, Khanjarali, Gupti, Madu, Parshu, bows and arrows, spears, Vita, Sang, cannonballs, and antique locks.
Additionally, visitors will get to explore 2,500-year-old ancient coins, Punch-marked coins, Satavahana coins, coins from the Devagiri and Vijayanagar empires, and rare coins of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj, and Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj (Satara). The exhibition will also feature rare silver coins from the Maratha Empire and princely states.
